PSE hopes to have outages restored by Thursday

A Puget Sound Energy spokesman says the utility hopes to have most of the out-of-service customers back on line Wednesday with no more than scattered outages remaining Thursday.

By Tuesday afternoon it still had about 22,000 to go, mostly in the south Puget Sound region.

Spokesman Roger Thompson 280 line crews are working their way through neighborhoods in south King, Pierce and Thurston counties, making repairs that sometime restore only one or two customers at a time.

Last week's snow and ice storms knocked out nearly 400,000 customers or more than a third of PSE's 1.1 million electrical customers in Western Washington.

Thompson says, "This has been a monster."
